The Dana Point Festival of Whales, happens every year in the Dana Point Harbor the First two weekends in March. The annual event celebrates the return of the once-endangered California Gray Whale with this “whale” of an event. This celebration draws more than 100,000 visitors from around the world to Dana Point each year for the height of the Gray Whale Watching season.
The Event runs for two weekends, March 4-5 and 11-12.
The whales will begin their migration in late November hundreds of these 35-ton whales will pass by the seaside community of Dana Point, California the West Coast’s premier location to meet and greet these incredible creatures.
Festival highlights include an opening day parade, Street Fair, art and craft shows and sales, classic car exhibits, paddling and sailing opportunities, Boating Extravaganza, sand sculpting, concerts on land and water, environmental activities, educational opportunities, interpretive crafts, kids activities, fun food, and of course, whale watching excursions on a variety of vessels or whale watching from breathtaking Dana Point Headlands Conservation Park.
